I understand what's at stake

Taking public transportation offers multiple benefits:

  • Comfort: You can use your commute to read, listen to music or podcasts, work if you’d like, or simply relax and let your mind wander.
  • Cost-effectiveness: traveling by public transit is cheaper per kilometer than driving a private car.
  • Carbon footprint: even on a diesel bus, the carbon footprint per kilometer is lower than that of a car. And diesel buses are becoming increasingly rare: throughout France, bus fleets are gradually switching to electric or biogas-powered vehicles.

In well-served urban areas, public transportation is often faster than a car for getting from point A to point B.

Public transportation service can be more unpredictable in rural areas: it’s a good idea to check which routes are available and their schedules… and don’t hesitate to bring your needs to the attention of your local city hall or regional council.
