Transport

Leave the car home for short trips

I understand what's at stake

Walking and biking aren’t just good for reducing pollution in the city—they’re also great for staying healthy. Our lifestyles are making us increasingly sedentary. So, when you have a quick errand to run, hop on a bike.

If you don’t have your own bike, discover the joy of riding a bike-sharing bike, or try a long-term rental plan.

The carbon footprint of daily commuting

Taking action

It takes about 15 minutes to walk 1 km and about 5 minutes to bike the same distance. Getting more physical activity has nothing but benefits:

  • for your health: The World Health Organization recommends at least 30 minutes of physical activity per day.
  • for the climate: by leaving your car or scooter in the garage, you reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help combat climate change.
  • for your wallet: kilometers traveled on foot or by bike cost nothing, even when using an electric bike.

What's in it for me?

Walking or biking has virtually no cost, even for electric bikes (about €1 for charging every 500 km). Walking or biking also saves you money!
