Exploring alternatives to short-haul flights

I understand what's at stake

Short-haul flights have a very large carbon footprint, due to the fact that takeoff and landing are the phases that emit the most greenhouse gases. So even if the flight is short—sometimes less than an hour—the amount of greenhouse gases released during takeoff and landing remains very significant.

In Europe, we’re fortunate to have a very dense rail and road network that offers alternatives to short flights.

And if you really have no choice but to fly, choose nonstop flights.
