Drinking sweetened beverages often can lead to weight gain and increase the risk of diseases such as diabetes.
In addition, most of those beverages have a fairly high carbon footprint.
Taking action
If you’re craving a sweet drink, opt for syrups. They have a much lower carbon footprint than sodas and fruit juices: about 0.01 kg CO2e per liter.
