How to optimize your heating with a thermostat?
I understand what's at stake
Heating accounts for an average of two-thirds of a home’s energy consumption in France. A programmable thermostat can reduce this consumption by up to 15% by adjusting the temperature to your actual needs:
- Depending on the day and time of day
- Depending on the type of room
- Depending on weather conditions
It’s a simple and effective step that prevents waste and optimizes thermal comfort. But you still need to program it correctly!
Taking action
Do you already have a thermostat but aren’t sure if you’re getting the most out of it? Don’t have one yet? Check out all of ADEME’s tips on choosing a thermostat and programming it (in French):
- Choose the right one (based on your heating system and your optimization goals)
- Position it correctly
- Program it for optimal performance
What's in it for me?
With savings of up to 15% on heating-related energy consumption, the cost of purchasing a thermostat pays for itself in 1 to 2 years.
