Housing
Where to start to properly insulate your home?
I understand what's at stake
Insulating your home is a highly effective way to:
- Increase comfort, both in summer and winter: a well-insulated home ensures a comfortable indoor temperature.
- Reduce your impact on the climate: insulation significantly reduces the need for heating or air conditioning. Energy consumption decreases, and as a result, greenhouse gas emissions are lower.
- Lower heating and, potentially, air conditioning bills, as energy needs are reduced.
- Keep your home in good condition: with less humidity, no air infiltration, and no thermal bridges, the risk of mold growth and wall damage is significantly reduced.
- Increase your home’s value: a home’s energy performance rating and its comfort level are becoming increasingly important factors when selling a property. This is now referred to as a home’s “green value.”
Taking action
- Schedule an appointment with the Local Energy and Climate Agency in your area.
- In France, find out what government assistance is available to help finance your insulation project.
What's in it for me?
Insulating your home offers many financial benefits:
- lower energy bills, starting as early as the first few months
- greater resilience to fluctuations in energy prices in the years ahead
- increased property value when the time comes to sell To help you finance these renovations, there are many grants and programs available (such as MaPrimeRénov’). A smart choice for the planet—and your wallet!
