The Pendril & al. study shows that the footprint of imported deforestation is 81 kgCO2e on average per French person. We assume that, on average, a French household owns between 5 and 15 items of furniture that are less than 10 years old. If the user owns less furniture, we reduce the amount of deforestation, and vice versa if they own more.
