Number of vehicles on the road

This figure concerns vehicles in circulation (cars and LCVs). It is taken from data on the French vehicle fleet at 1 January 2023.

However, we are considering data for 2022 because the average distance travelled per vehicle is only available for 2022.

We have chosen not to take into account the business/personal categorisation as many business vehicles are also used for personal and home/work journeys (which we take into account in the calculator).
