This figure concerns vehicles on the road (cars and LCVs). It is taken from data on the French vehicle fleet at 1 January 2025.

However, we are considering data for 2024 because the average distance travelled per vehicle is only available for 2024.

We have chosen not to take into account the business/personal categorisation, as many business vehicles are also used for personal and home/work journeys (which we take into account in the calculator).
