National emissions from air conditioning systems on cars and LCVs

This figure comes from the SECTEN study (the benchmark report on greenhouse gas emissions and atmospheric pollutants in France).

According to the excel Data by greenhouse gas (GHG) substance, 2025 edition, downloadable via the link above, tab "GF-UE_total", fluorinated gas emissions from passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (from refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, using halocarbons or SF6), are 1138 ktCO₂e (in 2023, since we have the number of vehicles in circulation for 2023).
