According to the SDES’s “Key Transport Figures”, rail transport (excluding the Eurotunnel) accounted for 113.3 billion passenger-kilometres in 2024. This figure presumably takes into account journeys made by foreign travellers, but it can nevertheless be used to obtain a good approximation of the average distance travelled by train by French people.
