Traces of leaks during air-conditioner maintenance

Notes

The AFCE report states that if the air conditioner’s charge level falls below 90 per cent, maintenance is required. The frequency of recharging over the unit’s entire service life is therefore determined based on the annual leakage rate. When the leakage rate reaches 10%, the air conditioning unit is recharged. Thus, the recharging frequency is calculated as follows: 10% / annual leakage rate. For example, if the annual leakage rate is 4%, the air conditioning unit will be recharged every 2.5 years (10% / 4% = 2.5 years). Over a 10-year service life, this corresponds to 4 recharges.

How is this figure calculated?

  • Quantité * empreinte fluide * fréquence de rechargement
  • Avec:
    • Fréquence de rechargement:
      • Durée de vie / (10% / fuites annuelles . taux de fuites annuelles)
    • Quantité:
      • Charge moyenne * taux de fuites maintenance
    • Taux de fuites maintenance:
      • 0%
