The unit-level carbon footprint is calculated based on the average load of the air conditioner and the leaks occurring at full load, during operation, during maintenance and at the end of its life.
The assumptions vary depending on the type of air conditioner (portable, single-split air-to-air heat pump, multi-split air-to-air heat pump, air-to-water heat pump). They are taken from the ‘Refrigerants 2025’ report (provided by ADEME’s Buildings Department).
