The refrigerants used for maintenance are considered to be representative of the stock of air conditioning units and heat pumps in mainland France. R-410A is the most widely used, but R-32 is becoming increasingly common.
In 2023, the demand for maintenance (Table 55 in the appendix) of installations in mainland France is estimated at around 340 tonnes, the majority of which is R-410A (77%). R-32 is gradually being adopted and will account for 23 per cent of the refrigerants used for maintenance in 2023.
