Question for the user
Have you subscribed to a gas contract that includes biogas (or biomethane)?
Input help
Biogas, or biomethane, is a gas produced from organic waste (household waste, manure, lawn waste, crops, etc.), unlike fossil gas, misleadingly called "natural" gas, which is extracted like oil from the Norwegian or Russian subsoil.
For some years now, it has been possible to subscribe to a contract that guarantees the injection into the French gas network of the same quantity of biomethane as your own consumption. The gas you consume in your home will in any case be a mixture mainly made up of the methane molecule (CH₄), but for every kWh of gas consumed, 1 kWh of biomethane will have been injected "on your behalf".
Unlike gas, electricity can't be stored, which is why we don't offer a "green electricity" option in the simulator.
Please note that there are offers with only 10% or 20% biomethane. If this is the case, answer "no".
