As far as deforestation is concerned, our food causes deforestation abroad, which has a significant carbon impact. This footprint is not included in the Agribalyse emission factors.

According to the Pendril & al. study, part of this deforestation is specifically associated with the consumption of farmed meat. We consider that this share associated with "farmed meat" is mainly associated with the consumption of red meat, which is why we add this share of deforestation to red meat meals.
