Take the test →Deforestation
Notes
Imported deforestation is the carbon footprint associated with the destruction of forests elsewhere on the planet. It is the combination of two factors:
- Emissions linked to the burning of the forest (instantaneous)
- Emissions linked to the removal of carbon sinks (future)
The Pendril & al. study is the most comprehensive on emissions linked to imported deforestation.
Some of these emissions vary according to diet. It concerns :
- meat consumption (depending on the number of meat meals reported): on average 34 kgCO2e / French person
- consumption of imported fruit, vegetables, cereals and nuts (to be varied according to whether or not local produce is consumed): an average of 86 kgCO2e / French person, differentiated according to the proportion of local produce.
The rest of the emissions linked to imported deforestation associated with food are allocated equally to each French person. This corresponds to :
- consumption of vegetable oils: 5 kgCO2e / person
- consumption of other products that cannot be discriminated on the basis of diet: 76 kgCO2e / person
How is this figure calculated?
- Métrique != "carbone"

- Alors:
- Variations:
- Alimentation . local . consommation = 'jamais'
- Forfait base + (forfait moyen fruits céréales * 1.5)
- Alimentation . local . consommation = 'parfois'
- Forfait base + forfait moyen fruits céréales
- Alimentation . local . consommation = 'souvent'
- Forfait base + (forfait moyen fruits céréales * 0.6)
- Forfait base + (forfait moyen fruits céréales * 0.2)
