On World Environment Day, let's hit the million mark!

"When I calculated my carbon footprint for the first time, it was a wake-up call. As a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) director, I thought I was doing pretty well. I had no car, I recycled my waste. But in reality, I was just at the average level of a French citizen…"
Taking action is often triggered by a painful realization. Since then, Emmanuelle has reduced her consumption of meat and cheese. She also flies much less. "My children live in the United States, so I will keep visiting them. But instead of going three times for a week, I now go once for three weeks."
Step by step, Emmanuelle is following the path to two tons. And to make an impact beyond her personal carbon budget, she has inspired many others to follow her lead and calculate their own carbon footprint. "Everyone have to open their eyes" she often repeats. Thanks to her, and many others like her, we have recently reached recently one million simulations.
But we need to go further to make a real difference and collectively lower the national average. Every simulationis a stepping stone towards action. To reach our goal of five million online tests by 2025, we are counting on every Emmanuelle and Emmanuel in this country to share our calculator with those around them.
Have you heard about the "Group Mode"?
To encourage collective engagement, we have created a “Group Mode”. It allows multiple participants to take the test together and compare their results with the group's average across different categories - transport, food, housing, and other consumption habits. This group mode is available for live simulations (conference mode) or asynchronous participation (survey mode). To make these group simulations even more engaging, we have created "Challenge Your Friends".
For example, residents of Noisy-le-Grand (Seine-Saint-Denis) are already using the tool to compare their footprints with their neighbors - surely sparking some interesting discussions in the community! As for Emmanuelle, her goal is to get all her colleagues to calculate their carbon footprint.
And you, who will you invite to drop a few kilos of CO₂ (or even a few tons - let's be ambitious!)? Your petanque club members? Your paternal family (the maternal side is already under two tons)? Your coworking space colleagues?
June 5th is World Environment Day - perfect timing! 😉
Do you want to share the tool even more widely?
We’d love to collaborate! Feel free to reach out to Margaux Cosnier, Deployment Manager at Nos Gestes Climat.
